Congratulations to the Lancer girls and boys cross country teams for being Bi-State Champions and finishing with an undefeated season. In cross country the top 5 finishers for a team score, so even though it is an individual sport more importantly it is a team competition. On Friday, October 10th our 7th and 8th grade AVID students enjoyed a trip to the University of Idaho. Our two classes supported and encouraged each other as students took turns testing their climbing skills and conquering fears. A few of our classmates made it all the way to the top of the 55 foot pillar located in the student Recreation Center!
Our students also learned about the importance and necessity of the insect world to human survival as they studied and held leaf bugs, walking sticks, “Lucy” the tarantula and more!
We finished our U of I stay with a trip through the arts. We toured the Hartung theater learning the ins and outs of the woodworking, custom paint mixing, costume creation, and the electrical components of a theater production. We also let loose with an improv session that left all of us laughing.
A great time was had by all!
