Martin Luther King Jr., Black History Month

February is dedicated as Black History Month, honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history, including the civil rights movement and their artistic, cultural, and political achievements.

One of the most memorable speeches by Martin Luther King Jr. included this quote, "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."   We must not forget that Black History is American History and the sacrifices and achievements of African Americans has made invaluable contributions to our nation's greatness.

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." - Harriet Tubman
